It’s always an honor when a family invites me back to photograph a younger sibling’s bar/bat mitzvah! Benji’s older sister Annabel celebrated her bat mitzvah in 2022, and now it was Benji’s turn. We began with a morning service at Temple Sinai, followed by an evening celebration at Wildwood Golf Club. Once again the family chose Shari Zatman of Perfectly Planned by Shari to design and orchestrate the party, and she created a festive atmosphere with baseball-themed decor. DJ Sosa, my favorite mitzvah DJ, entertained guests of many ages.
I love photographing parties! I aim to capture all aspects of the celebration to tell the full story, including a mix of smiling-for-the-camera photos, candid laughs and hugs, and lots of action. So much goes into planning an event and the evening flies by. At the end of the party, I want the family to have a diverse gallery that documents the whole party, so they can slowly remember all of the moments that made it a great night.
